Discuss issues unique to librarians working with incarcerated youth

Discuss issues unique to librarians working with incarcerated youth.
This includes youth in juvenile halls, group homes, treatment centers,
mental institutions, etc. The group will address issues such as working
within several systems with differing values (Probation, Library, School
Departments, Social Services), issues of censorship within a structure
that may or may not acknowledge ALA or guidelines, issues of providing
services to youth with mental health issues, serious criminal charges,
etc. Serving incarcerated teens presents unique issues and dilemmas for
librarians. Many of these youth have no access to technology or hardback
books, books on tape, etc due to security or other concerns. Many have
adult interests and experiences but read from preschool to adult levels.
