ACRL Science & Technology Section Discussion List

Purpose

The STS-L electronic discussion is for the discussion of issues relating to the science and technology libraries.
Any questions regarding the pertinence of any particular topic should be sent to the STS-L moderator.

Audience

STS-L is specifically aimed toward science librarians and library staff, but anyone is welcome to join the discussion.
There are presently over 1,100 subscribers world wide and the list averages 5 messages a day.

Posting Policy

The following policy governs all postings to the STS-L list.

  1. All messages should be related to the general topic of Science and Technology libraries.
  2. Announcements of conferences, workshops, new publications, and position openings appropriate to the topic of the list are allowed.
  3. Advertisements are discouraged.
  4. All postings must be free of copyright restrictions that limit distribution.
  5. File attachments are discouraged; to prevent the spread of viruses, etc., any attachments are automatically stripped from your message before posting.
  6. All postings are publicly archived in the STS-L Archive http://lists.ala.org/wws/arc/sts-l

Subscribing, Posting and Unsubscribing

STS-L is running on the Sympa software on the American Library Association servers. You can subscribe, change your subscription settings, post, and unsubscribe by logging into the web interface: http://lists.ala.org/wws/info/sts-l
Subscribers can also post messages by e-mailing them to sts-l@ala.org

Administration

The STS Publications Committee is responsible for the administration of the STS-L discussion list. Peter Zuber is the current manager of the list.

History

STS-L began on July 27, 1994, and was hosted by the University of Tennessee Libraries from 1994 until June 2005.
